  • Fleet Science Center Construction Crew Camp

On Wednesday, July 18th, 2018 Project Cornerstone partnered with the Ruben H. Fleet Science Center to bring our Science of Concrete program to their Construction Crew Camp. The 1st and 2nd grade campers first heard a presentation about the science of concrete, learning about the different materials; where they come from and how they are extracted. Then, campers measured out the correct amounts of water, sand, cement, recycled aggregate, and crushed rock, so they could make their own concrete. Campers then chose molds ranging from a butterfly to a football, to a truck! Amazingly, the campers were so proficient with the activity, we were able to make at least 2 molds per camper!
