On Monday, July 6, 2015, Project Cornerstone’s Alyssa Burley visited the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center‘s Construction Crew summer day camp in the historic Balboa Park, in San Diego, CA.
The afternoon camp included nineteen 3rd & 4th grade students from around San Diego County, plus about eight high school volunteers. The campers learned about construction aggregates, the reason why concrete is made with river sand instead of beach sand, and then the campers were able to make their own concrete projects.
