Project Cornerstone is looking for volunteers from the construction aggregates (and related) industries to participate in Career Day at Mountain Empire High School.
The Alpine Mountain Empire Chamber of Commerce has requested that Project Cornerstone provide information about the construction aggregates industry at its Career Day on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. It will be an all day event; the exact times have not yet been released.
The Career Day will introduce 200 middle school students from Pine Valley Middle School and 400 high school students from Mountain Empire High School to various career paths and industries. Ed Hidalgo, the Senior Director of Staffing at Qualcomm, has just agreed to be the event’s motivational speaker.
Project Cornerstone will have a booth with information about the construction aggregates industry and career options. Students will filter through the booths and ask questions about the industries. It will have a greater impact on the students if we have volunteers from the local industry (e.g., quarry operators, aggregate drivers and heavy equipment operators) be there to answer specific questions about what it’s like to work in the industry.
If you are interested in participating in the event, please contact Alyssa Burley at (619) 284-8515 or alyssa@project-cornerstone.org .
