In November, Hanson Aggregates trucks were lined up to pour concrete in Downtown San Diego. Concrete is an ancient building material that is still used in many construction projects around the world.
Did you know:
- The ancient Romans were the first civilization to use concrete as a building material. Built by the Romans between 118 – 128 AD, the Pantheon’s dome is the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world. And, we still use concrete in nearly all building projects today!
- Concrete is used to build highways, bridges, retaining walls, sidewalks, roads, high-rise building, foundations, and even kitchen counter tops!
- Concrete is the number one building material in the world. It is used twice as much as all other building materials combined. (ECOSMART)
